Located in Rollingword Park, near Rolling Road in Springfield. If you do not have a mapping GPS, see the spoiler below. This is a Fairfax County Park located within a development of single family homes, but you should not see much of those homes between where you park the car, and where the stash is located.
This "Springfield Santa Stash" supercedes the previous one submitted by me. My GPS unit was set to an incorrect map datum, resulting in the coordinates being a bit off. I apologize to anyone who made the trip for nothing.
Here's a stash just for kids (accompanied by adults, of course) And by the most remarkable coincidence, it was placed on Christmas Eve. The plastic container holds an assortment of toys (see photo). You'll find a selection of fine quality ultra-cheap digital watches (BNI), a brand new disposable keychain flashlight, a yo-yo, a Pez dispenser, a few balls, a roll of pennies, and other assorted trinkets. Take stuff, leave stuff, and make an entry in the log book. You might want to poke/retrieve the stash with a stick, in case there are animals/reptiles hiding there too. The cache was verified as being still there on Monday, January 15.
