Geocache Description:

Sedan 1877 ingen brytning skett.
Det vattenfyllda gruvhålet är 25 meter djupt. En ort har drivits c:a 20 meter in i berget. Längst in i denna ligger cachen.

Mining started in the Garpa mine in the 12th century. When it was reopened in the 17th century, skeletons and clothes from an accident in the 12th century were found. Further accidents in the 18th century led to the closure of the mine. The mine was again open for mining in the 1870’s but was closed after only 7 years, again after an accident.
The water filled part of the mine is 25 meter deep. A horizontal shaft stretches 20 meters into the mountain. The cache is hidden at the end of it.
