Hirvepark is a dendrologically rich park in Tallinn, near Toompea, thanks to its many species and also rich by its history. It is protected (with the Old Town of Tallinn) by the UNESCO. But the park is also deemed to be the symbol of the re-established Republic of Estonia. In 1987, people gathered for the first time to protest against the occupation of Soviet Russia, bringing to public the pact concluded between Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany. And as you know, Estonia is a free and democratic state today!
