Golden Arrow is an abandoned mining operation. Like so many mining operations, when the ore is gone, the mine shuts down and they leave the mess. I hid the stash in the mess. Since there is crud everywhere, hopefully only explorers with a GPS will locate the stash. The goodies are in a laundry detergent "pail". It is waterproof provided the person does a good job of putting the lid back on. I placed debris over the stash to hide it and would appreciate whomever finds it to cover it up again.
This site is very remote, requiring about 20 miles of dirt road travel. You are on your own getting here. That is, carry spare water, food, tire repair kit, spare tire, emergency blanket, and whatever you do when driving off-road in remote areas. There is cell phone service on Verizon if you have roaming, though you may have to find a hill to get reliable service.
You can check out the Tonopah Test Range a bit further down the road: click here I've noticed in the logs that some are visiting mines along the way. Obviously you do this at your own risk. I suggest not parking close to any mine but rather park on the established road and walk into the area. One of the mines along the way passes under the side road leading to it, and who knows if it the supports could hold a car. I don't have the same concerns about the Golden Arrow site, though obviously you always should use a bit of caution. I make it a point to rap anything I explore with a stick to make sure there are no critters waiting to great me. ;-)
