The Main Event
When : Saturday, December the 1st from 12pm till whenever.
Where : Molongolo Gorge,
Link , accessable via Pialligo Ave , left onto Sutton Rd, right
onto Kowen Rd, Right into the Molongolo Gorge parking area. You'll
know you've got the geocaching crowd when you see the giant green
monkey.
What : The ACT Xmas Geocaching Extravagansa main event!
Bring : You, Food [BBQ's Available], Trackables*, GPS, Your game
tickets [will be explained further down]
There will be prizes based on the following game, and also some
lucky door prizes based on attendance!
The 2007 Canberra Caching Game
From Tuesday 20th of November, 25 already existing TRADITIONAL
caches in and around the city [~5km] will contain tickets that will
be used for some of the Main Event prize draws. The game will work
as follows.
This map shows the area that the caches used are in : [with the
lighter area being the game area]
25 pre-existing Traditional caches within this area will be
supplied with tickets before the 20th. It is up to you to find the
caches first and retrive the tickets in order to have the most
points at the end of the game [the event], or get at least one
ticket to go into the prize draw.
Points
A 'FTF'(First Ticket Find) will recieve 3 points, (you take the
'FTF' ticket) and all subsequent finds of the cache will result in
1 point, until the cache is exhausted of tickets.
Rules
1. Once you 'FTF' you are required to post a note on the cache
page to indicate this (so other cachers will know where it is).
2. You may only take one ticket per cache (obviously)
Prizes will be awarded to the cacher with the most points, and
the rest of the tickets will be put into a prize draw for other
prizes, which include Unactivated Travel Bug tags, Geocaching Pins,
an ammo box cache, and many more.
