Once you have accepted "The Invitation", please continue to Orientation where you will receive your next instructions.
By locating "The Invitation" and placing your signature in the log book and/or on this site in electronic form, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
The following Terms and conditions apply to all phases of the DHARMA Initiative Phase II (DIPII).
i) Health:
Good health and both mental & physical fitness is required on all portions of DIPII. We recommend a complete physical examination for all participants including and not limited to mental screenings and psychiatric evaluations.
ii ) Insurance:
It is a condition while participating on the DIPII must be protected by insurance that covers accidents, health, emergency evacuation, and lots of items, theft of or damage to baggage and personal effects. DIPII is not responsible for validation of said insurance.
All costs for emergency evacuation must be paid in cash unless an insurance company has agreed to pay the costs on your behalf. It is important that any insurance policy issued to cover emergency evacuation for the DIPII does not exclude alpinism or mountaineering. Rescue insurance is not available in through DIPII .
iii ) PAYMENT :
Though we do not require it, we would appreciate it.
iv ) CANCELLATION :
In the event you decide to quit the DIPII at any time, you can always complete the Initiative restarting where you left off.
v ) Responsibility :
We reserve the right to refuse to respond to DIPII participants causing inconvenience or annoyance to other the Hanso Foundation or other DIPII participants.
We shall not be liable for any loss or damage to baggage or personal possessions, or any consequential losses resulting there from. If a DIPII participant is injured or becomes ill, all evacuation and hospital expenses, doctors' fees and repatriation costs are the DIPII participants responsibility, and The Hanso Foundation shall not be liable.
It is the DIPII participant’s responsibility to have valid passports and all visas and equipment that may be required on the selected portion of DIPII . We do not accept responsibility for failure to obtain these visas for any reason, and do not accept responsibility for any passports or documents left with us for this purpose.
vi ) Assumption of Risk :
The DIPII participant understands that during the course of the DIPII , certain risks and dangers may occur, including, but not limited to, the hazards of traveling in mountainous terrain, accident or illness in remote places without medical facilities, and the forces of nature. The DIPII participant agrees to assume all risks associated with the journey, and agrees that no liability will be attached to the company or its outfitters, employees or agents, or to any member of the tour group in respect to death, personal injury, illness or delay of DIPII participant, or for any loss or damage to the property of the DIPII participant during the course of the trip, howsoever caused.
vii) Collaboration
The DIPII participant may encounter other DIPII participants in the process of participation. DIPII participants may also contact previous DIPII participant’s offline. It is our policy that new DIPII participants contact the Hanso Foundation through this site. Previous DIPII participants will be held in breach of these terms & conditions if they "give away" details to future DIPII participants.
Please note that the support staff of the DIPII are available to help new DIPII participants around the clock.
viii) Final Section
Please note that any and all previous licensed uses of terms, names, characters, and trademarks used as part of DIPII trump and overwrite any use of said terms in the DIPII . Also note that these terms are part of the DIPII experience and in no way shape or form are acknowledged or considered binding by GC.com or Groundspeak.
