Looking for a small camoed Rubermaid container. Only accessible Monday-Friday 7:30AM - 3:30PM and Saturday-Sunday 8:00AM - 4:30PM.
Could not resist putting a cache here after we went looking for Sleeping Beauty (GCP90G)because of all the history involved with this cemetery.
Purchased in 1897 by the City of Miami, the cemetery was located one half mile north of the city limits. The first recorded burial was on July 20th, 1897. Originally divided between whites on the east and the colored population on the west end, it later included a Jewish section. Julia Tuttle, the Mother of Miami, was buried here in 1898. If you walk around you will see the graves of our soldiers from various wars. You may also spot the names of several pioneer families like Burdine, Peacocks and Dr. James Jackson.
As with any cemetery cache, the container is not located on or near any graves or memorials.
