This cache has been archived.

DiverRN: Yep, this one is gone. It was the last of the spice bottles that started St Marks Trail 1-6 so many years ago.

Geocache Description:

There is an unpaved parking area at the jucntion of Hwy 267 & Hwy 365.

The Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail, Florida’s first designated state trail, follows the abandoned railbed of the old Tallahassee-St. Marks Railroad. The lower 16 miles of the trail is managed by the Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of Greenways & Trails with another 4.5 miles north of the trail head maintained by the City of Tallahassee. The railway operated from 1836 to 1983 transporting goods like cotton, turpentine and timber and during the Civil War, transporting troops.

Today the trail is enjoyed by runners, walkers, bikers, and in-line skaters. There is an adjacent unpaved trail for equestrian riders, too! You can visit the state trail website:
(visit link)

This is a great opportunity to get out on the trail! You can do the whole 16 miles in one shot or each one can be a park-n-grab.

Thanks a lot to Miles and Rick at the Office of Greenways & Trails for their support for these caches.
