Geocache Description:

Old rest area on northbound US-131 between Schoolcraft and the Centre Street exit.

This cache is up for adoption. Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks! This used to be an actual rest area years ago then it was closed and the facility bulldozed. After that it spent many years locked up tight. Now it's nothing more than a parking lot along the highway.

If you enjoy doing a little CITO while you cache then this will be right up your alley.

Also seems to be a popular spot for hunters as all the surrounding land is part of the Gourdneck State Game Area. The signs say not to trespass but it apparently shortens their hike in as I've witnessed it twice now.



Cache is a Matchstick container hidden in the normal fashion...just with a tad bit more altitude. Not sure if they bother to plow this or not but the cache should be winter friendly.
