For all of you who do not have enough time to walk 300 m for the cache in Valbiska, here is a quicky one. Für alle von euch, die ihr keine Zeit habt, den Valbiska-Cache zu machen, weil die Fähre sonst ohne euch ablegen könnte ;) Za sve vas koji nemate vremena skoknuti do cachea u Valbiskoj, ovdje brzo mozete pronaci spremnik. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Nearby in Pinezici there is a restaurant "Sopele" - named by an rare instrument, playing by its previous owner: "Sopele - Sopile" Sopele is traditional Croatian wind instrument played in the region of Istria, on Islands of Krk, Cres, Rab, and also in the region from Rijeka till Novi. Two instruments are played simultenaously (na tanko i debelo, high voice and deep voice), using the famous Istrian Scale. Thanks to efforts of several enthusiasts on the island of Krk, the instrument is again in use more and more. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Wenn ihr nicht nur in Eile seid, könnt ihr im Sommer in den Ort Pinezici hineinfahren. Dort gibt es das Restaurant "Sopele" - benannt nach seinem früheren Besitzer (der sich immer noch gerne im Lokal aufhält und die Leitung nun an die nächste Tochter-/Sohn-Generation abgab), der einer der besten Sopele-Spieler weit und breit ist und auf der Insel auch eine Schule für Sopele betreibt. SOPELE (auch ROŽENICE genannt) ist eine istrische lange Flöte. Sie ist ein traditionelles Blasinstrument und ähnelt der Oboe. Sie ist charakteristisch für Istrien. Dieses Instrument spielt man im Paar (es wird auf der kleinen und der großen SOPELE) gespielt. Manchmal begleiten sie auch andere Instrumente wie die Harmonika. Sie wurden bei festlichen Anlässen, aber auch bei Tänzen gespielt. Obwohl sie erst in der Zeit der Renaissance nach Istrien kam, erlebt man sie heute als ein «authentisches» Kulturphänomen, das charakteristisch für slawische, d.h. kroatische Kultur Istriens ist.
