Keeping the spirit of Tolkien alive

Urst100 - Spirit Of Tolkien

Many people believe that J.R.R.Tolkien renowned author of “Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” visited Hogsback and inspired by its forests and mountains, reflected them in his stories.

The beauty of the area seems infused with the other-worldy aura of Tolkien’s “Middle Earth” and the forests envelop you in a world of fantasy.

Old, gnarled trees seem to whisper their wisdom on the breeze and the undergrowth of ferns conceals an imaginary world of “little folk” – goblins, elves, gnomes, dwarves, fairies, and of course hobbits.

The area abounds with Tolkienesque names. One finds properties and farms named Arminel, Wilderland, Tanglewood and River Running.
