Description
At 2,764 acres, Pelham Bay Park is the largest park in New York
City. There are quite a few remarkably beautiful spots that make
you wonder if you're really in New York City. This is one of
them.
Puzzle Information
For this cache you will need the inscription on the front of the
Bronx Victory Memorial Column at the listed coordinates. Then take
the inscription, remove the spaces, and write down the letters one
by one left to right and top to bottom in such a manner to create a
10 x 10 grid with 100 characters. The rows (numbered 0 through 9)
will be for the North Coordinate and the columns (numbered 0
through 9) will be for the West Coordinate. You will then need to
use the information provided below to determine the numeric
representation for the Final Coordinates:
AC°EG.IKM N
BD°FH.JLN W
Y = (A,B), A = (C,D), R = (E,F), D =
(G,H), H = (I,J), I = (K,L), E = (M,N)
North Checksum = A+C+E+G+I+K+M = (_,_) = E,
West Checksum = B+D+F+H+J+L+N = (_,_) = G
Note: Stage 1 is at a nice monument where people often
take wedding photos. The Final Stage is somewhere in South Meadow -
please look out for muggles!!! After finding the cache do make your
way farther down the trails to have a scenic view of Eastchester
Bay!
