Geocache Description:

The coordinates given are NOT the location of the cache, but tell you where to stand to get the first clue to its location. You are seeking two words that will provide the phrase to use as a keyword in a search of the on-line catalog inside the library. The call numbers of the first few titles returned in the search should get you close to the cache. The cache contains a log, pencil – and a bit o' luck for FTF.

In 2004 Cedar Falls opened a new public library and community center building. The exterior of the building features sculpted terra cotta books, the titles of which were selected by donors to the library building fund. This little puzzle uses this external feature to introduce you to some of the great features of the inside of the Cedar Falls Public Library.

Treat the collection of large terra cotta books in front of you as a grid of 4 rows and multiple columns of book titles. Locate the 12th title in the second row of books.
How many letters in the title? N = ___
What is the nationality of the book's author? A = _ _ _ _ _
If you do not know the author of this book – and cannot fathom his nationality from the sense of this puzzle, there are other means of solving available.
First, enter the book title in a “title” search and the authors name will be returned. Locate the book itself or his other nearby works and the cover flap bios will provide the needed information. If all else fails ask at the Reference Desk on the second floor.

Remaining outside the library, relocate to N 42o 32.005 W92o 26.664 and face South.
Counting from right to left, locate the N th book title.
What is the first word in that title? B = _ _ _ _ _

Enter the two word phrase A B in a keyword search at the on-line catalog – and good luck.

There is a map of the two floors of the library just inside the entrance to the main floor.
All of the computer terminals that are set at a height to be used standing up access the on-line catalog.
