Margaret Recreation Center, 1109 Margaret St., 3.65 acres. This cache is a safe hunting distance away from the playground. **Please don't crank the lid on too tight when closing it up.**
Blurb from "The Street Where You Live" p174)"Originally Pearl Street, the name was changed in 1872. Margaret is derived from the Latin for 'pearl.' The 1928 Hopkins atlas shows a large pond (500 feet by 200 feet) between Hazel and Ruth Streets, between fifth and Margaret Streets, just south of Eastern Heights Elementary School. Homes have been built around the perimeter of this previous pool—from which no pearls have been plucked—with large lots extending back into the dry pond bed."
