De nøgnes sted..

I det antikke Grækenland var gymnasiet (på græsk gymnasion, der i øvrigt kan oversættes til "sted hvor man er nøgen") et sted hvor unge mænd trænede hårdt til de forestående sportskonkurrencer i Olympia. I dag er de fleste fysiske udfoldelser udskiftet med mere mental træning i fuld påklædning, men der knokles stadig på gymnasiet i Solrød.

Solrød Gymnasium er tegnet af arkitektfirmaet Friis & Moltke og blev indviet i 1978. Det er et flot profileret langhus opført i røde mursten, der huser både gymnasiet og biblioteket i Solrød. Bygningen er i 2 etager og i skolens indre gade, med højt til loftet, er der store vinduespartier ud mod 2 sydvendte gårdrum.

Solrød Gymnasium er til dagligt arbejdsplads for ca. 470 elever og 53 lærer.

Om cachen:
Cachen er en 0,7 L plastbeholder. Cachen er en rigtig "drive-by", men tag en pause, gå en tur rundt om gymnasiet og nyd arkitektur og kunst.

The place of the naked..

In ancient Greece a gymnasium is a place where young men exercised hard for the oncoming sports competitions in Olympia. The word gymnasium, from the Greek word gymnos meaning “naked”. Today most of the physical work is replaced with more mental training, but a lot of work is still being done in the gymnasium (high school).

Solrød Gymnasium (high school) is drawn by the architects Friis & Moltke and was opened in 1978.
It is a beautiful profiled “long house” in red bricks, housing both the high school and Solrød library.
The building is two stories high and in the schools inner street, with high sealing, there is big window displays against two courtyards facing south.

Solrød high school is daily a place of work for app. 470 students and 53 teachers.

About the cache:
The cache is a 0,7 l plastic container. It's a real "drive-by", but take a break and enjoy the art and archiecture.
