This Cache is close to the Tropic of
Capricorn next to the N1 on the road to the needle
monument.
It is a easy cache for the traveler. Save parking on route to
the needle monument. You can park within meters from the Cache.
Enjoy the N1 Tropic of Capricorn earthcache at the monument.
This cache is film canister . Only a log sheet please have a
pen (small pensel is included it dont last long). Please cover up
the best you can.
At the Tropic of Capricorn, parallel latitude 23 deg 26'18'' south
of the equator. It is at this latitude that the sun's rays strike
the earth vertically on only one day of the year, at noon on or
about 21 December. This marks the beginning of summer in the
Southern Hemisphere and the beginning of winter in the Northern
Hemisphere. The Latitude of 23deg 26' 18'' south is known as the
Tropic of Capricorn because the sun enters the constellation of
Capricorn at the Southern hemisphere's summer solicide.
