The 405 hectares, (1,000 ac.) of land known as the Hendrie Main Tract of Simcoe County
Forests consist of the first five lots on Concession VI, of Vespra Township,Adjacent to
County Road 22. On these historic lands, the first Municipal Provincial agreement Forest
began in 1922. Since that time the County has increased its landholdings to more than
10,500 hectares distributed throughout the County.
County Forestry Management operates on a 5 year plan to designate Forest areas to be
thinned and selectively Harvested.Thinning and Harvesting operations will be done on
approx. 850 acres of coniferous plantations and 250 acres of natural hardwood stands
each year. The County Forests have the resources to sustain these operations indefinitely.
Revenue from the sale of forest products is used for forest management and maintenance.
The tract of land where this Cache is located is also known as the “Hendrie Tract” but was
not part of the original Tract, being one of the land Tracts aquired in later years.
This is the last of the series on the Hendrie Forests I trust the little bit of History on this

All stages are close to main well travelled trails, please be careful of any detection and
replace the container carefully in the position it was found. No bushwacking required.
