Høvbleget

Denne cache er en af en serie, der har til formål at sætte fokus på det nye danmarkskort efter kommunalreformen i 2007. Der er cacher i alle 98 kommuner og de 5 regioner. For at finde en regionscache, skal du først finde alle kommunecacher i den region.

Fra 1. januar 2007 er den nye Vordingborg Kommune resultatet af kommune- sammenlægningen af de fire tidligere kommuner: Langebæk, Møn, Præstø og Vordingborg. Vordingborg Kommune omfatter den sydøstlige del af Sjælland og Møn. Kystlinjen er 370 km., måske den længste i Danmark, med 17 Lystbådehavne. Vi lever tæt ved skov og strand og også tæt ved indkøbsmuligheder og museer. Vi er ca. 47.000 indbyggere.

Nær Møns Klint ligger et flot kuperet landskab kaldet Høje Møn. Her finder vi Høvbleget, hvor cachen er gemt, og det er en del af Mandemarke bakker. Fra disse bakker er der en smuk udsigt, i klart vejr ses det meste af Møn, og Rügen kan ses 56 km. borte.
På grund af jordbundsforholdene er floraen fantastisk, her ses planter, der ikke vokser andre steder i Danmark. Bakkerne er også kendt for de mange orkidéer, hvoraf en del kun vokser her i Danmark.
Cachen er gemt i et jordfaldshul, der er dannet ved sammensynkninger i undergrunden, som fremkom i forbindelse med, at isen smeltede ved sidste istids afslutning.

This cache is part of a series of caches which focuses on the new map of Denmark, following the reform of local government in 2007. There are caches in all 98 municipalities and 5 regions. To find a region cache you have to locate all municipality caches in the same region. If you manage to find all 5 regioncaches, you will have the coordinates to the final "Danmark" cache.

The new Vordingborg Municipality was born on the first of January, 2007, after the merger of the four municipalities of Langebaek, Moen, Praestoe and Vordingborg. Vordingborg Municipality comprises the southern part of Zealand and Møn. The coastline is 370 km - perhaps the longest coastline in Denmark - with 17 marinas. You have the option of living close to the forest and the beach and yet close to shopping facilities and cultural offers. We are around 47,000 people.

Near Møns Klint lies a nice hilly landscape called Høje Møn (Tall Møn). Here we find Høvbleget, where the cache is hidden, and it is a part of Mandemarke hills. From these hills there is a beautiful wiew, on a clear day you can see most of Møn, and Rügen is to be seen 56 km. away. Due to the soil conditions the flora is fantastic, here we find plants, that does not grow in any other place in Denmark. The hills are also known for the many orchids of which some only grow here in Denmark. The cache is hidden in a collapse sinkhole which has been formed by collapses in the underground that started because of ice melting at the end of last glacial period.
