Brushy Creek Traditional Geocache

The original cache here was archived and is being revived by an effort to to keep scenic and beautiful cache locations in Arkansas active, which has been spearheaded by BackpacknJack. A big thank you to "CacheMates" also for recommending this location.

The Brushy Creek recreational area offers camping and picnicking opportunities without the usual crowds. Lake Ouachita and other outdoor activities are a short drive away. The area boasts a pavilion, restrooms,campgrounds, as well as a playground and volleyball court.

To access the trail park in the parking area provided for hikers to the right of the entrance of the recreational area. This area is open even when the gate is closed. Walk across the bridge, make sure to enjoy the view of Brushy Creek, and head for the stairs. The cache location is a short hike down the trail and offers a great view of the creek as well as interesting fungi, mosses, and geology. Please be sure to rehide the cache as well or better than you found it so others may enjoy this area as much as we hope you have.
