This is a multi-cache, starting in the village of Puivert. You'll need to find a few clues for the final coordinates near the Chateau. The path to the castle is uphill and not suitable for wheelchair or stroller. You should be able to complete this within 1.5 hours (not including a visit to the Chateau)
Start at the centre of Puivert at the war memorial in front of the Town Hall (N 42.55.198 E 002.02.774) There are several parking spaces available here. The war memorial has 4 plagues on it, placed on the same day in November, but in 4 different years. The third number of the first year is A. The fourth number is B. The fourth number of the last year is C. Now follow the signs to Musee Quercob, walk over the bridge, through the village, pass the museum and turn sharp left back to the main road (D117) and turn right. Walk along the road for about 100 meters (careful for passing traffic, no pavement). Just before a bend in the road you’ll see on your left hand side the Chapel of Notre Dame the Bon Secours. This Chapel was destroyed during the French Revolution. The second number of the year in which it was rebuilt is D. Take the path on the right of the chapel which leads up the hill. You’ll now see the statue of Notre Dame the Bon Secours. E is the third number of the second year on this statue. Now follow the path uphill to Puivert Castle, following the ‘sentier de troubadours’. Final coordinates are N 42.55. AB(C+D) and E 002.0B.(E-A)(E-B)(C+E) The cache is placed outside the castle grounds (small tupperware)
Chateau de Puivert is a Cathar castle, situated in the commune of Puivert, in the Aude department of France. This building, on top of a hill overhanging the village and its lake, reaches an altitude of 605 m. The site is in the Quercob region, 60 km south of Carcassonne and 45 km east of Foix. The castle has been listed as a munument historique since 1902 (or 1907 depending on your source). It is open to visitors (5 euros) and the roof of the highest tower offers great views.
C'est une multi-cache, commençant dans le village de Puivert. Vous devrez trouver quelques indices pour les coordonnées finales près du Château. Le chemin au château monte et est non approprié aux fauteuils roulants ou aux poussettes. Vous devriez pouvoir accomplir ceci dans un délai de 1 heure 30 (ne comprenant pas une visite du Château). Commencez au centre de Puivert, au mémorial de guerre devant l'hôtel de ville (N 42.55.198 E 002.02.774). Il y a plusieurs places de stationnement disponibles ici. Le mémorial de guerre a 4 plaques, placées dessus le même jour en novembre mais sur 4 années différentes. Le troisième nombre de la première année est A. Le quatrième nombre est B. Le quatrième nombre de la dernière année est C. Maintenant suivez la direction « Musée Quercorb », traversez le pont, traversez le village, passez le musée, faire un crochet à gauche vers la route principale (D117) et tournez à droite. Marchez le long de la route environ 100 mètres (faire attent
ion, aucun trottoir). Juste avant une courbure de la route vous verrez de votre côté gauche la chapelle « Notre Dame de Bon Secours ». Cette chapelle a été détruite pendant la révolution française. Le deuxième nombre de l'année où elle a été reconstruite est D. Prenez le chemin du côté droit de la chapelle qui amène sur la colline. Vous verrez maintenant la statue de « Notre Dame de Bon Secours ». E est le troisième nombre de la deuxième année sur cette statue. Maintenant prenez le chemin qui monte vers le château de Puivert, suivant le «sentier des Troubadours ».
Les coordonnées finales sont N 42.55. AB(C+D) et E 002.0B.(E-A)(E-B)(C+E). La cache est placée en dehors du château (petit tupperware).
