Byvåbnets historie 

"Der er ugler i mosen", lyder et gammelt udtryk.

Oprindeligt hed udtrykket “der er ulve i mosen”, men i mange dialekter blev “ulve” til “uller”, og ulvene dermed til ugler. Udtrykket har derefter levet videre, efter at ulvene blev udryddet i Danmark.

Solrød Kommunes karakteristiske byvåben med ulvetandssnittet er inspireret af et af de ældste stednavne i kommunen, Wluæmosæ (Ulvemose) i Havdrup. Stednavnet er mere end 700 år gammelt.

Town arms history 

An old Danish expression says that "there are owls in the moor" (something fishy is going on).

Originally the expression was "There are wolfs in the moor", but in many Danish dialect wolfs became owls. The expression has there after lived one, after the wolfs was extinct in Denmark.

The characteristic town arms of Solrød municipal with the wolf tooth section is inspired bye one of the oldest places in the municipal, Wluæmosæ (Wolf moor) in Havdrup. The name of the place is more than 700 years old.

One of the things, that is significant to Solrød municipality is the many green areas and the beautiful beach. No matter where you are in Solrød, you will always be close to city, forest and beach.
Therefore we have attempted to place the cache in the same way, close to everything.

This cache is one of a series, which purpose is to focus on the new map of Denmark, after the reform of the municipals in 2007. There are caches in all 98 municipals, they contain a code which is necessary to find the 5 region caches. To find a region cache you must find all the municipal caches in that region. To find the final cache: " Danmark" (GC12ARJ) you must find and use the codes, from the the 5 regions caches.
