Huuhanmäen tähtitorni
Tähtitornia hallinnoi Kuopiossa toimiva tähtitieteellinen yhdistys Saturnus.

Tähtitorni on rakennettu vuosina 1963-1964 vanhan ylävesisäiliön päälle. Nykyään tornin sisällä on kolme erillistä kaukoputkea: 200mm peilikaukoputki sekä 100mm ja 150mm linssikaukoputket.

Tornilla järjestetään yleisönäytöksiä sään salliessa, yleensä näytökset pidetään kuitenkin sunnuntai-iltaisin. Jos sää on pilvinen, näytöksiä ei luonnollisestikaan pidetä. Torniin on suunnitteilla pieniä korjauksia ja myös uuden tornin rakentamista muualle on kaavailtu. HUOM: tietoihin tähtitornin aktiviteetistä kannattaa suhtautua varauksella, näytöksiä ym. kannattaa tiedustella suoraan Saturnukselta!

Huuhanmäki observatory
The observatory is managed by Astronomical Society Saturnus.
Observatory was built in 1963-1964 on top of the old water reserve. Inside the observatory are three separate telescopes: 200 mm reflecting telescope and 100 mm and 150 mm refracting telescopes. The Society organizes public demonstrations depending on weather conditions, usually on Sundays. Please contact the Society for further information!

Huuhanmäen ylävesisäiliöt

Ylävesisäiliöistä vanhempi on rakennettu vuonna 1913 ja uudempi vuonna 1970. Molemmat säiliöt ovat edelleenkin osa jakeluverkostoa ja vanhempi säiliö toimii myös tukevana jalustana tähtitornille. Säiliö on Kuopion vanhin ylävesisäiliö ja johti Kuopion vesilaitoksen perustamiseen v. 1914.

Huuhanmäki water reserve
On site one can see two water reserves: the older one was built in 1913 and the newer one in 1970. They both are part of the distribution network and the older reserve tank acts as a stand in support of the observatory. The 1913 reserve tank is the first reserve tank in Kuopio and led to the establishment of Kuopio Water Company in 1914.
