Geocache Description:


I've only seen a few shooting stars and never had much interest in astronomy but my 6 year old daughter has recently learned a lot about the planets and loves watching tv shows about them. So when I saw a newspaper article about the Perseids meteor shower starting on the evening of August 12th, we decided to hide a cache to spread the word.

Park at the parking coordinates and follow the paved trail until your arrow points to the right. Bushwhack in wherever you want because there isn't a trail. I found this hiding spot over the winter and was surprised at how different it was in the summertime. I'm using an average of the coordinates from February and when the cache was hidden. If all else fails, just look for the big geobeacon. There's lots of good hiding spots but the one I chose is above the rest.
