Wayfarer's Walk is a long distance path which starts at Inkpen
Beacon, this is also an end point of The Test Way. It is close to
the site of Combe Gibbet and follows a meandering route to
Emsworth, some 70 miles distant. The path starts in Berkshire, but
most of it is in the county of Hampshire. The path runs close to
the highest points in both Berkshire and Hampshire as witnessed by
the nearby trig points. Parts of the walk can get muddy and deeply
rutted whereas other parts are an easier terrain. I hope you enjoy
the wonderful views from this scenic path.
Info from Hantsweb mentions the following for this area: The
native flora contains a variety of herbs typical of ancient chalk
downland including squinancywort, thyme, rockrose, salad burnet,
clustered bellflower, small scabious and orchids such as fragrant,
frog, bee and pyramidal.
Although not exactly part of nature, the majestic line of power
pylons dissappearing into the distance is quite artistic.
