Ironstone Ridge Viewpoint Traditional Geocache

The Ironstone Ridge Viewpoint is located 4.3 km from the gated entrance to the Ironstone Ridge Road. There is an elevation gain of about 1400 feet from parking near the gate, but the road to the ridge is in excellent condition for the hike. The cache is about 60 - 70 metres south of the ridge on fairly level terrain with quite a few rocks.

The Ironstone Ridge Viewpoint is a regular sized LnL type container with the usual logbook, writing instruments and other small trading items. The cache was placed to encourage others to check out the Ironstone Ridge and it's splendid views of the area and the brass cap - GC43F3 - (BCP193).

The Ironstone Ridge Viewpoint is a fairly easy ridge viewpoint hike once you reach the trailhead. The views at the lookout are simply outstanding and well worth the visit.

The real challenge with this cache will be reaching the gated entrance to the ridge access road, as the going is rough and requires a vehicle with good ground clearance. Four-wheel drive vehicles are recommended, but the trip can be handled by a 2 x 4 drive system with good ground clearance. The road to the parking site is NOT recommended for travel following any significant amount of precipitation.
