redlights: I was in the Solomon's area this evening, so I decided to stop by and check on this cache. Unfortunately the news is bad, the cache was not in its original hiding place, nor was it able to be found in the general vicinity. Therefore I'm archiving the cache. Thanks to all who visited I enjoyed reading the nice logs.

The total distance is approximately .3 miles along level ground. This cache is intended to be a walking tour of Solomons Island. It will bring you to various places where you will need to gather information to find the final cache, a piece of paper may come in handy. So find a place to park and slow down for a little bit.

The listed coordinates will bring you to a sign along the boardwalk, in Solomons, describing the “Majestic Patuxent River.” Take a moment to look out at the river and soak in its beauty. Notice the sign mentions that the deepest part of the river is located at Upper Town Point. How deep is it? Remember that last digit of the depth, as ‘B’.

Now look north along the front of the parking lot. You will see something big and red. Used as former aid to navigation, it now sits dedicated to the men and women of the United States Coast Guard. There is a three-digit number on the top of it. Remember the first digit as ‘A’.

Next take a stroll north, maybe even stopping at one of the best ice cream shops in Calvert County. Just a little past the ice cream shop you will notice a historic marker offering information about Solomons Island itself. Notice also that Commodore Barney’s flotilla sallied from Solomons Island to attack British ships. What war was that? Remember the last digit of that war as ‘F’.

Before you leave this location – look down. There is a benchmark that you can log. (Nice for a bonus.) Now look across the street to find part of the Calvert Marine Museum. Be careful crossing and stop by to see what one of the major industries of Solomons once was. Notice that the family mentioned fished the area until what year? Remember the third digit as ‘C’.

Now looking south on the same side of the street you should notice another historic marker describing the business of a gentleman named Davis. Walk down the street to get a better look and take note of two things. First in what year did the business open? Remember the last digit as ‘D.’ Also there is a president mentioned. That president was which one numerically? You need to remember the last digit of that answer as ‘E.’

You should now have all of the information necessary to find the final cache. Just use the values you obtained in the following order.
