PLEASE NOTE; This series will be archived, and all the caches removed, on 30th June 2011, to make way for the new Balcombe Boundaries series, which will cover a lot of the same ground, but with all new hides.
This is a sort of twin series of two completely independent circular walks, both of about 3 miles, and both starting from the same place, but going in opposite directions. Each walk has 5 traditional caches and a bonus cache. Each of the 5 traditional caches has some of the numbers you will need for the bonus, written inside the cover of the log book. There is also a Bonus Bonus Cache. The co-ordinates for this can be found, half in each bonus cache.
The walks both start from the large free public car park in the lay-by just north of Balcombe Church. You could also easily arrive here by train. The church is about 10 minutes walk northwards from the station.
I have tried to hide the caches in positions that will show you which footpaths to take. The walks both keep to footpaths and quiet lanes. I think you should be able to complete both walks without using a map, if you do the caches in the correct order. Most of the caches are hidden in dense woodland, where the GPS signal is not very good, so I have tried to give very helpful hints, as I would be disappointed if you fail to find any of them.
If you have a dog, please keep it under close control, and do not let it chase any pheasants or ducks. There are many game birds in this area.
