Finally, for the Liver Fiesta Dodecathon, of course, is End of Liver (Liver Fiesta #12). As was stated in its cache description, Liver Fiesta (GCXB9X) itself was the first of eleven “clue caches” designed to lead you to this twelfth and final cache in the Liver Fiesta Dodecathon. In each Cache in the dodecathon, you found a clue for the location of “End of Liver.” The beginnings of understanding the meaning of these clues was revealed in part in the eleventh clue cache (Virginia is for Livers (Liver Fiesta #11)), which provided the “decryption key” (sort of) that is necessary, in part, to lead you to the “End of Liver.”

It all will become clear in time. How quickly now is up to you, the Liver Cacher.

So, where to begin? I’m thinking of a game, a sport, actually. It is a team sport (the 2007 set is what matters, by the way, sorted alphabetically) that employs individual players with individual positions (and it’s the positions that matter here). Some players have done well, some have not. Some have done so well, in fact, that their retirement was marked by an end to more than just their careers. So who were they, and EXACTLY what did they do and for whom?

Taking this into account, you get the following:

(18(23))(34(28))(20(26))(4(11))(72(29))(3(30))(12(9)) (37(30))(9(24))(25(2))(5(23))(1(7))(9(24))(23(8))(10(30))

If you did that correctly, you will have the FIRST RESULT, and it will lead you to where you will find two magic numbers. Call them # and %. Next, we need to consider even further all those tantalizing clues you extracted from the Liver Fiesta Dodecathon caches.

Let’s build a matrix. Label the columns A, C, V, Z, F, H, J, M, P, and O. Similarly, label the rows B, D, I, G, K, W, N, R, U, and X. (Columns are vertical; rows are horizontal.) Next, fill in the matrix as you would a multiplication table, so that the entry in, for example, the column labeled A and the row labeled B is the product A times B. In any cell in this matrix, if the resulting product consists of 2 digits, add the digits together to get a single digit, and repeat this as necessary until the entire matrix is filled with only single digit numbers. Got it?

Now, let’s use those magic numbers and the FIRST RESULT. First, use the row of the matrix corresponding to magic number # or %, as appropriate. Using common matrix (row, column) notation, construct the following:

(#,H)(#,V)(#,Z)(#,P)(#,Z)(#,V)(#,P)(%,C)(%,P)(%,J)(%,F)(%,H)(%,P)(%,C)(%,J)

and add the FIRST RESULT. Do this digit-by-digit, retaining the commas to separate the results of the individual additions.

Then, subtract the following from the preceding result, one number at a time, where each number is separated by commas in both minuend and subtrahend:

N,D,Y,S,I,Z,K,A,J,T,H,Z,L,G,K.

If you did that correctly, you will have the SECOND RESULT, and it will lead you to the meaning of the decryption key you found in Virginia is for Livers (Liver Fiesta #11). With that, you may decipher the following:

PCEZY TACCT RMWTZ VTBXK YXCRH MXCVF VHJUW IOYYI GMKRK VNRXF SXPPN LMJRF VKRTK YLCIP HQBGK KLMKI OYCGE

If you did that correctly, you will have the THIRD RESULT. Go there. It will lead you to TRUE LIVER ENLIGHTENMENT and the

END OF LIVER!!!
