Micro container in Meadowmont. Pierce the veil into the n'ether
side, this is a simple park, short stroll and grab.
“They say foul beings of Old Times still lurk In dark
forgotten corners of the world, And Gates still gape to loose, on
certain nights, Shapes pent in Hell."
Charlie Watkins was a mysterious character. Nursing his single
hand, he was often seen in the oddest locations around Old
Meadowmont village, now a sprawling well-manicured neighborhood. A
well-documented occasion of this was once when Charlie was found
unconscious next to Meadowmont graveyard, flattened into a parking
lot for a new UNC health facility. Found by a local seamstress, the
prone Watkins was completely unrousable. He was taken down the
burgeoning thoroughfare into Chapel Hill towards Memorial Hospital.
Whilst traveling in the constable's Ford, Charlie suddenly and
violently awoke. By all accounts, he pushed himself into the front
seat and forced the car off the road. Out the car he ran, back
towards Meadowmont Cemetery. All the while he was screaming
unintelligibly (some reported it sounded like Latin).
To this day, the reason for this behavior was not known. The only
clue might be the mention of the graveyard in his unfinished third
study on the "Awful" (see this link), in which he claims to have found
evidence of a North Carolinian sighting of the mythical beast. The
"Awful" had alighted on the top of a magnolia tree next to the
Cemetery, spotted by a local teenager out hunting deer. He marked
the tree for the local constabulary with a black gun casing. Under
the light of Halley's Comet, Charlie described how he planted a
Pine sapling next to the young Magnolia, as an apparent deterrent
to further visits by the "Awful". Where he gleaned this knowledge
is not documented.
