Geocache Description:

A map provides all the information you need to find where the treasure was hidden.

In the late 1700's early 1800's England was in termoil. Napoleon had siezed power and his revolution was spreading across Europe. There was a real threat of invasion and indeed a popularist uprising. Napolean had even selected a new Prime Minister who would land with the invading troops.

As has been repeated over history the continuing superiority of the British Fleet, the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines was the only reason discouraging an invasion.

If you were wealthy at that time you had a lot to loose and you may have wanted to secure your wealth in a secret location. This is one of two caches linked to those troublesome times in South Lakeland.

All you have to do is solve the clues left on the map

Can you find the hidden treasure from the Napoleonic era ?

A higher resolution version of the map may be found here (visit link)
