La Forêt de Meudon
The "Forest of Meudon" is manmade dating back to the 17th and 18th century. Servien constructed a gigantic hydraulic system to feed the gardens of the castle. The creation of several small lakes also go back to this period, as well as 2 windmills, that are no longer visible today.
An old royal hunting ground, it took until the 19th century that the "green lungs" of this forest were percieved as heritage property. During the romantic wave, the Forest of Meudon became the geographically closest forest to the capitl, and thus also the most visited.
Today, the forest is a place of leasure, and has as such been protected since 1965 by the National Bureau of Forests, that guards this precious land, divided between the 5 cities of Clamart, Meudon, Chaville, Vélizy and Viroflay.

La forêt domaniale est essentiellement une création de l’homme et remonte aux XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles. Servien aménagea un gigantesque système hydraulique pour alimenter les jardins du château. La création de nombreux étangs date de cette période ainsi que deux moulins à vent aujourd’hui disparus.
Ancien terrain de chasses royales, il aura fallu attendre le XIXe siècle pour que l’on prenne conscience du caractère patrimonial de ce poumon forestier. Avec la vague romantique, la forêt domaniale de Meudon devient la forêt la plus proche de Paris et aussi la plus visitée. Aujourd’hui, elle est définitivement consacrée lieu de loisirs et de flânerie et à ce titre, protégée depuis 1965 par l’Office National des Forêts, qui œuvre pour entretenir ce précieux patrimoine répartis sur les cinq communes de Clamart, Meudon, Chaville, Vélizy et Viroflay.

Take the RER C from Paris until Meudon. From there walk south and you will hit the forest
By car:
There are several parking places close to the cache. I give you two possibilities:
A (coming from Meudon):

Par Train:
Prenez le RER C jusqu'a Meudon. D'ici orientez vous vers le sud, et vous allez trouver la forêt.
Par voiture:
Il y a plusieurs parkings dans la forêt. Je vous propose deux possibilités:
A (venant de Meudon:)

The Cache:
La Cache: |
The cache is a round coffee tin. It is big enough for Travelbugs and Coins.
When approaching the cache, you can stay on the footpaths until approximately 20 metres before the cache location.
The cache being hidden in a rather dense forest with poor GPS reception, the coordinates are to be used with caution.

La cache est assez grand pour laisser des Travelbugs, et des Geocoins. La cache est une boite de caffee ronde.
Quand vous vous approchez de la cache, vous pouvez rester sur des chemins a pied jusqu'a une distance de environ 20 mètres de la cache.
La cache etant dans une forêt assez dense avec une reception faible de GPS, les coordinées sont a traiter avec prudence. |

The cache being a rather difficult one, i have decided to give a 2-step spoiler.
1) If you don't succeed finding the cache at first, go ahead and decipher the written "spoiler" below.
2) If you still can't find the cache after this, i have uploaded a photo of the final location. This is a 100% give away spoiler only for emergencies, so don't look at it, unless you want to spoil the fun for yourself. |
La cache etant plutôt difficile, j'ai decidé a vous donner le "spoiler" dans 2 étapes:
1) Si vous n'arrivez pas a trouver l'endroit ou il se trouve la cache, dechiffrez le "spoiler" écrit dessous.
2) Si après avoir lu le spoiler vous ne réussisez encore pas à trouver la cache, j'ai ajouté un photo de l'endroit exact ou il se trouve la cache. Ce photo est un spoiler de 100%, alors ne l'utilisez pas sauf au cas d'emergence.
