From Parking to Cache 0.50 miles one way.
Elevation Change Less then 200 feet
Located on Top of Caplin Peak @ about 8900 feet
This is Our First Cache Hide :
We Thank Tom Hoehn as he suggested placing a cache on this peak.
Take the Crest Highway RT.536 about 8 miles from RT 14 to The Caplin Spring Snow Play Area, which is marked by a sign.
Turn Right Go about 100 feet turn right again and follow this road until it ENDS at the parking area 35 13.066 106 24.884.
Walk across the meadow to several two foot long post
@ 35 13.100 106 24.884. from the post go uphill a very short distance to 35 13.146 106 24.894
Bear right & follow the BLUE DIAMONDS to 35 13.142 106 24.838
Continue on the trail following the blue diamonds to 35 13.206 106 24.619. "NO BUSHWACKING REQUIRED"
Then Turn Right uphill to the Peak & Cache.
The Cache is located in the center of the rock pile within 10 feet of the Survey Marker.
From the cache area you have great views of the Ski area & the Towers
The Cache is Plastic so please be careful when placing the Stones/Rocks back on the cache.
