off Elizabeth Kelly connector trail and within sight of the pond.
Cache is an ammo can and contains a wealth of goodies.
This cache is located within the bounds of The John Burroughs Nature Sanctuary in the hills overlooking West Park. Take Floyd Ackert Road west from Route 9W and follow across the railroad tracks and up the hill to Burroughs Drive. A short winding drive will bring you to the gate of the sanctuary on your right. There is room for only 2 or 3 cars to park here, but should not be a problem. There are several nature trails here, including one that leads to Burroughs' rustic cabin retreat, where he entertained such illustrious guests as Henry Ford, Teddy Roosevelt and Thomas Edison.
This is a nice quiet place for a family outing in an historical natural setting. Hope you enjoy!
I've named this cache in honor of one of John Burroughs' nature essays. A little research will reveal that it is NOT named for the red-breasted thrush.
