Guided by the
Eye of Horus, Nephi arrived at the "egyptian coordinates"

and was now standing at Amentet, the place in the west where the
sun sets and which is the entrance to the land of the dead - a
place of darkness where
Ra travels during the night.
Nephi knew that the underworld was treacherous and full of
danger. He needed to find the book of the dead with all its spells,
charms, passwords, numbers and magical formulas of the afterlife he
needed for the safe passage through the underworld and to
re-birth.
So he set off through the unknown darkness to find the book. On
the way at a crossing he met the ferryman Mahaf who promised to
help him find Aken and the book. Together they drove to
a sign where Mahaf told him to turn to the left. Soon they saw
Aken looking at
the book high up on the wall. With this knowledge he could now
safely carry on through the underworld searching ..
