Must be some sort of record.

Thanks everyone for coming along, it is the attendees that make an event interesting, informative and fun so you all had a hand in making this a very enjoyable day.
A couple of special thank yous to:

[:)]Lisa (Rogfrat) for the talk on basic first aid and some practical advice safety in the field.
[:D]Charlie Brown for dropping in a bundle of Geocaching Stickers to label our caches with.
[8D]Tangles - For bringing along the worlds first edible cache. Everyone enjoyed the yummy custard filled, chocolate coated "cahiteroles".
[;)]The SES for their expert tarp fixing skills ;)

Great to see you all and look forward to crossing paths again soon.

Geocache Description:

A chance to meet and greet other cachers.

With the explosion of caches, cachers and caching in the South-West we thought it about time we held an event in the area.

Events are a great opportunity to meet other people with the same interests, share some stories (tall or otherwise) and maybe come away with a few extra hints and help lines for those Nemesis caches ;) Whether you have found 1 or 1000+ caches you will be most welcome.
It is also a good excuse to get the family and yourself out for a bit of socialising. That's right, Geocaching as a social activity, not something you need to do in the shadows.
I've picked the location so as not to be not too far for Sydney and 'Gong cachers. There are shelters and electric BBQ's at the cache site so just bring yourselves, a chair and your own food and beverages. Oh, also bring your GPSr and Geocaching spirit as there may be some additional activity to keep you entertained on the day.

At 12.30 on the day we will be having a talk on some basic first aid dealing with snake and spider bites, breaks and sprains; as well as some minimum equipment we should all have in our cache bags.

In addition to the event I will be bringing along a bunch of ammo cans which will be for sale at cost price. If you are interested in picking up 1, 2 or 12 let me know so I can cater for everybody. Prices will be:
$8.00 for small ones(commonly refered to as 30 cal)
$10.00 for large ones(commonly refered to as 50 cal)

Confirmed orders will need to be logged on this cache page by Monday the 11th of June so I can ensure supply.

(Please do not feel compelled to buy an Ammo Box if you are coming to the event.)

The gathering will be at Simmo's Beach near Ingleburn. The area is very family friendly so bring the kids and family and make a day of it. Event kick-off will be around 10.00am and the day will last as long as it lasts. We will get there early to secure a good spot for the attendees.

There will also be a prize for the winner of the obligatory time trial. We will furnish an Ammo Can, Log Book, Stash Note and Pencil for the prize and all participants can leave a future swap if they want. The obligation on the winner will be to eventually place their prize so all can enjoy the spoils of the day.

Anyway, hope to see you on the day for a bundle of caching fun!
