The cache is hidden near/amongst the backcountry campground at "the point" at Kananaskis Lakes. This relatively flat trek can be done as a day hike (less than 4 KM one way from the parking lot), or as an overnight. The cache is a toothbrush container that is covered in camo tape, and should be a relatively easy find. Due to its size, it has room for only a pencil and logbook.
This is the third cache in the "GET OUT" series with a goal of getting people out into the mountains to enjoy the scenery, fresh air, exercise, and spend time with friends and family.
"The Point" is perhaps one of the best backcountry campsites in the Rockies for beginners as it is a fairly short and flat hike, yet offers amazing views of Upper Kananaskis Lakes and surrounding mountains. There are also a number of day hikes that can be staged from this area which include waterfalls, canyons, and a mountain pass.
