CAN YOU SEE
ME?
Esta cache pretende mostrar um espaço que passa
despercebido á maior parte das pessoas que por ali passa, o
Vale do Silencio. Isto já foi feito por uma outra cache
que entretanto deixou de existir, a:
Valley of Silence [Olivais - Lisboa],
entretanto arquivada. Esperamos que esta tenha melhor sorte e, que
na eventualidade de desaparecer, consiga chamar a atenção para o
desprezo que este espaço tem merecido das entidades
competentes.
This cache´s intention is to show a place
unknown to the majority of the people that just drive by, the "Vale
do Silencio" (Valley of Silence). This had already been done by
another cache that has disapeared and archived:
Valley of Silence [Olivais -
Lisboa].We hope this one has better luck, and, if it disapears,
it calls the attentions of the proper authorities for this
place..
O Vale do Silencio é um local especial para nós e
faz parte das nossas vidas de uma forma ou de outra. A
Cristina viveu aqui mesmo ao lado durante grande parte da sua
vida, o Alberto passa por cá quase todos os dias e o Martim e
o Afonso tambem vem aqui para muito perto praticamente todos
os dias.
The "Valley of Silence" is a special place
for us because he´s part of our lives one way one another. Cristina
lived by it´s side most of his life, Alberto drives by it almost
every day and Martim and Afonso also spend most of their time in
the neighbourhood.
O Vale do Silêncio nasceu na decada de 60, em
plena expansão do bairro dos Olivais, para atenuar os efeitos
do cimento e proteger os blocos habitacionais dos cheiros
provenientes da zona industrial.
The "Valley of Silence" was born in the
sixties with the expansion of Olivais neighborhood, to cut down the
efect of the cement.buildings and to protect them from the smell
that came from the industrial area.
Apesar de as intenções serem de proteger as
oliveiras sobreviventes, estas tinham já desaparecido quando
da construção dos prédios.
Infelizmente e incompreensivelmente, hoje, este espaço está votado
a um semi-abandono que pretendo também mostrar.
O lixo acumula-se um pouco por todo o lado sem que haja grande
preocupação de o retirar e o mato vai crescendo nas zonas mais
marginais do parque sem que os responsáveis mostrem também grande
preocupação.
Even if the first intention of the park was
to protect the surviving olive trees (from where the Olivais name
came), they had already disapeared when the buildings were
built.
Unfortunatelly and we cannot understand why, today this place is
more or less abandoned, and, that´s what i want to show you. Even
if the grass at the center of the park and some areas are clean and
taken care off, garbage spreads on the borders of the park without
anyone showing much will on removing it and some small bushes and
high grass also grow on this areas without being cut.
Não sei exactamente sobre quem recai a
responsabilidade pela manutenção desta zona. A recolha do lixo
deverá pertencer ao Departamento de Higiene Urbana e Residuos
Sólidos (lisboalimpa@cm-lisboa.pt),
enquanto que a manutenção do espaço propriamente dita deverá
recair sobre o Departamento de Ambiente e Espaços Verdes
(daev@cm-lisboa.pt). Porque é
que não lhes enviam um email a contar o que viram e a
perguntar porque é que aquele espaço está no estado em que
está?
Tambem não custa nada perguntar á Junta de Freguesia o que acha
desta situação: (geral@jfsmo.pt).
I dont know exactly who´s responsible for
this park´s maintenance, but, i would guess that collecting the
garbage would be the mission of the Departamento de Higiene
Urbana e Residuos Sólidos (lisboalimpa@cm-lisboa.pt) while taking care of the
gardens and the plants would be the mission of Departamento
de Ambiente e Espaços Verdes (daev@cm-lisboa.pt). Why don´t you mail them
telling what you saw and asking why is this place like that?
You can also ask the Junta de Freguesia what they think of
this (geral@jfsmo.pt).
Se passarem por lá não se esqueçam de fazer um
pouco de Trash out. O local precisa. Claro que para as coisas
ficarem em condições seria necessário um camião, mas, se todos
ajudarem...
If you decide to visit this cache dont forget
to do some Trash OUt. The place need´s it a lot. Off course you
would need a truck to do it properly, but, if everyone
helps...
Uma ultima nota devido a objectos avistados
durante as buscas: Procurar esta cache é tão perigoso como
procurar outras escondidas noutros locais. Quando a cache foi
escondida não foram avistados objectos particularmente
perigosos, mas, recomendamos que tenham algum cuidado. Não é
necessário procurar nem remexer muito. A cache está
relativamente á vista. Face a isto e aos logs anteriores
decidam se a querem procurar.
One last note due to some objects found by
geocachers during their searches: Searching for this cache is as
dangerous as searching for other caches hidden in other places.
When we hide it we didn´t saw any dangerous objects. Nevertheless,
we advise you to take care when searching. You don´t have to search
much because the cache should be at sight. Being aware of this and
the previous logs, you should decide if you want to search this
one
Por favor não publiquem fotos do container (os créditos do
container vão inteiramente para o Alcas).
Tenham especial atenção para o abrir e fechar!
Para abrir sugiro que virem o container para baixo e batam com ele
na palma da mão.
Para fechar pressionem levemente num dos lados até vos parecer que
está fechado (o container exterior).
Para confirmar virem a tampa para baixo. Se não estiver rodem
ligeiramente e repitam o processo
Please do not publish photos of the container (credits for building
the container go directly to Alcas).
Take special care to open and close the container!
To open i sugest you turn the container upside down and hit the
palm of your hand with it.
To close, press gently in one of the sides untill it seem´s closed
(the outer container).
To see if it´s close turn it upside down. If it fall´s then spin
the inner container it a bit repeat the process.
