Geocache Description:

Halifax is a fascinating place. Many firsts can be attributed to Halifax. There is a lot of history here.

Those of us who have lived here forever, tend to take it for granted. The "Only In Halifax" series of caches is intended to spark the memory of the older locals and enlighten more recently arrived Haligonians and visitors. I hope you enjoy the hunting as much as I have enjoyed the hiding.

Long ago, when I was a young feller growing up in Halifax, someone told me about this anomaly. They said it was in the Guinness Book of World Records. I did not believe them, so I bought a copy and lo and behold there it was in black and white. The newer editions of the Guinness Book and the online site, no longer list these kinds of records, but it is still the only one of its kind.

Due to the bad decisions in HRM's chain of command, the anomaly is no longer an anomaly. It has been moved to outside the fence. The cache is still within 3 metres of it, but alas it appears that the singularity is no more.

The puzzle was to go to the posted coordinates and discover what the anomaly WAS. The anomaly was a traffic light that stood in the corner of the fence. It WAS the only traffic light in the world within the boundaries of a cemetery. That is until some MORON decided to move it outside the fence, thus ending it's unique status. You can see where the anomaly was located, thus why it was singular.

A cache container with a small log book is hidden near the anomaly.

To get credit for a find, you must sign the log book.

Email me and tell me what the anomaly is and what the record is. You do NOT need to wait for confirmation to log on-line.

Your log will be removed if I do not get an email with the answers before you log on-line.

Please do not spread the answer around. It is not difficult.

This is a high muggle traffic area. Ninja techniques should be utilized. This is more for my amusement rather than being totally neccessary. I list parking in the attributes, but parking in downtown Halifax is always a crap shoot and can be expensive. Public Transit, walking or cycling are the best ways to attain this cache.

Please return the cache container so that the openingis protected from the rain. The paper is water proof, but the cover is not.

As always, no pictures of the structure and no answers in the logs. Sorry, trading items or trackables will not fit into the container.

BRING YOUR OWN WRITING IMPLEMENT !!!
Pencil or ball point pen work best on the
waterproof paper.

Please observe the geocacher's golden rule:
"Hide caches that you would enjoy finding. Seek caches that sound appealing".

WARNING: Side effects of looking for this cache could lead to a healthy demeanor, a keening of the eye, a sharpening of the wit and a lightening of the burdens you carry around with you.
