Located on the campus of West Virginia University
Located in the heart of the downtown Morgantown campus, Micro At The Lair has been a vital part of the geocaching community for over 13 years! Hidden just behind the Mountain Lair, a central hub for students, this is a good place to come and shoot some hoops, throw a ball around, or just sit and relax. This is a very high muggle area and extreme discretion should be used. For the reason, the cache had to be hidden extremely well to avoid being stolen as it has been in the past. The immense amount of muggles coupled with the difficult to locate container is what earns this cache its D5 rating.
You are looking for a small silver nano container that contains a log only; tweezers and a writing utensil are required. There are electrical boxes nearby please do not look in them the cache is not there. Also, you do not need to climb into the flower beds, you can sit down and reach it. Please replace exactly as you found it and do not remove the container from its hiding position.
History of GC12XRT
5/14/2007 - Micro At The Lair was placed in the spring of 2007 by geocacher "Frank n Beck." Initially characterized by its immense challenge, this cache became a staple in the North Central West Virginia geocaching community.
4/08/2011 - Following a relocation of the original owner, Micro At The Lair was transferred to geocacher "Greenie333". Greenie333 maintained this cache for several years before handing it off to the next owner.
6/01/2014 - The cache changed hands once more and now was in possession of geocacher "Arealwhit." It was during this time several problems arose with the cache and it fell victim to being muggled countless times. Nonetheless, Arealwhit did a stellar job at ensuring this one stayed alive and well.
5/06/2020 - Being a future mountaineer with easy access to check and maintain the cache, Micro At The Lair was transferred to user Troopbiz to continue its 13 years of life.
6/01/2024 - Currently in search of the next owner to continue this cache's long saga of geocaching!
