Northern Cross-Island Highway (route 7) connecting Taoyuan and Ilan
county is an easy way to access mountains from northern Taiwan. The
elevation only goes up to about 1200m.
This is also a famous route for MTB or road bike. But my suggestion
is to start from deeper in (maybe Lo-Fu or Baling) to avoid
unpleasing heavy traffic in Taoyuan area. Climb all the way up to
Mingzhi (Bright Pond) Forest Amusement Park, then down to Ilan for
a big meal and spa treat, then figure out how to get back :).
There are quite a few old and lovely bridges alone the way. Most
notable is Lo-Fu bridge, don't miss it. See how many bridges can
you collect!
Further information
The cache is a very small magnetic nano cache, So obviously there
is nothing inside it except the log paper. Please bring your own
pencil.
