Sign of WaterWorks...Not! Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

D Force: This was the second cache I ever placed. I really loved it. But the entire area has been excavated and it is no longer possible to maintain a container here. As it was, it wouldn't have lasted this long without E2MG's skill and work in placing a new container here. I also took delight that it was 100 feet away from the the front of the Fayetteville PD. Thanks to all who hunted this one and took care of it. I really enjoyed all of the logs.

Geocache Description:

Really want to thank E2MG for going above and beyond in replacing this container. A lot of fabrication involved to recreate it. Thanks so much!

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE CONTAINER, IT AND ITS CONTENTS WILL GET DAMP. PLEASE DON'T PLACE ANY OBJECT IN IT THAT CAN'T GET WET. THANKS.

This cache is located in the vicinity of the defunct Scotch Spring fountain in downtown. The fountain commemorates the primary spring that provided water to the town now known as Fayetteville from the late 18th century throughout 19th century. The spring was abandoned in the early 1900's. The fountain, sadly, also is now in ruin.

I wanted to take on the challenge of placing a regular sized cache in the middle of downtown. This cache is inspired by a cache found in Kansas City. So, if you dislike looking for micros, this one is for you.

There is no need to move any stone blocks to access the cache, so please do not vandalize any public or private property, including the fountain. The cache is not in the flooded access area...please stay out of the area! Search with your eyes and you'll find it!
