La route du chocolat #2 va vous emmener vers l'ancienne usine Schaal qui s'appelait alors "Chocolaterie de la Compagne Française des Chocolats et des Thés (CCFCT)". Elle produit maintenant la marque "Marquise de Sévigné" à Geispolsheim et y a ouvert le musée du chocolat (voir La route du Chocolat #1 (GC120JE).
La Chocolaterie de la Compagnie Française des Chocolats et des Thés fut fondée en 1871 et agrandie en 1894. Son atelier de fabrication, près du quai Finkwiller (WP), a été démoli entre 1980 et 1988. Il ne subsiste aujourd'hui que le bâtiment de la petite centrale hydroélectrique (reconversion en salon-sauna) et l'immeuble qui abritait des bureaux et des magasins industriels. Ce dernier a été profondément remanié lors de sa conversion en édifices privés commerciaux (restaurant et discothèque).

The road of the chocolate #2 will take you along the old Schaal factory which was called “Chocolaterie de la Compagne Française des Chocolats et des Thés (CCFCT)”. It now produces the mark "Marquise de Sévigné" in Geispolsheim and opened the museum of the chocolate (see the road of the Chocolate #1 (GC120JE).
The Chocolaterie de la Compagne Française des Chocolats et des Thés was founded in 1871 and was increased in 1894. Its workshop, near quai Finkwiller (WP) was demolished between 1980 and 1988. There remains today only the building of the small hydroelectric power station (reconversion in living room-sauna) and the building which sheltered industrial offices and stores. This last was deeply altered at the time of its conversion into commercial private buildings (restaurant and discotheque).
