Lady of the Lake: King Arthur
And in the midst of
the lake Arthur was ware of an arm clothed in white, that held a
fair sword in that hand; Lo, said Merlin, yonder is the sword I
spake of. With that they saw a damsel going upon the
lake
Merlin announced that this was the Lady
of the Lake. She came to Arthur and told him he could have the
sword if he were to grant her a gift when she asked for it. Arthur
accepted, and then a barge appeared on the water beside him. The
Lady of the Lake instructed Arthur to take the barge and claim the
sword.

Like Camelot itself, this cache is
hidden in plain sight near a flat open area. If you come at the
right time of day the sun will illuminate what you are looking for.
If you look carefully, you will also find an albino redwood very
nearby. My GPS was being interfered with by magical forces,
consequently, I can’t say how accurate the coordinates are.
If someone gets better ones, then feel free to post
them.
This is your quest: to find the
cache of the Once and Future King. You will have help along the
way. King Arthur, Merlin, the Lady of the Lake, and Lancelot all
will provide clues to unravel the mystery. Good Luck.
This reserve is open from March 1 to
September 15. Dogs are permitted on leash, but are not allowed
in the water. No bikes or horses. There is a $4 entrance fee (pay
in the park store if entrance kiosk is empty). Maps are available
at the kiosk or park store. Pay phone, drinking water, and
restrooms are at the trailheads. The park store stocks a few
beverages and snacky foods. There is no direct public
transportation to the park. Park hours vary slightly, but generally
the gate opens at 6 a.m. and closes at dusk. Please see Website for
more information. Trails are poorly suited to wheelchairs. POISON
OAK IS EVERYWHERE. The caches were hidden when PO was low but
coming up fast. Also, though I have never seen a rattlesnake on
these trails, they do appear, please be careful and report what you
find. Thanks! .
Cheers,
