Geocache Description:

The coordinates given are not the cache location, but the railway station at Horsley.

This cache is inspired by those in the 'X' Marks the Spot series, and is part of a series on the theme of people of significance in the various arts (literary, musical etc) and who have Surrey connections.

This person (who will be called X) lived in Surrey for part of his/her life. As well as their achievements in the Arts, X held important diplomatic, and religious positions. X studied at both Oxford and Cambridge universities, but left both without gaining a degree.

To find the final cache location you need to solve the following:

  • The year of X's death was 1ABC
  • X served as an MP. How many letters are in the constiuency name (D)?
  • X entered Oxford University at the age EF.
  • While X was young, his/her father died. G is the year of the father's death minus the year of X's birth.

Final cache location is at N 51.E(A+B-F).D(A+B-C)B W 000 (B-E)(D+F).(G+C+F)(A-B)(D+E)

You are looking for a small tupperware type box which will hold geocoins and small items only.

Please replace the cache box exactly as you found it and don't leave any spoilers in the log.

Please feel free to continue the series with a cache of your own.
