You will get wet; you may get SOAKED! Grab your oars and head down the Reedy Fork Paddle Trail in NorthEast Park! Bring your own boat. We took a large raft, but a canoe or kayak would do fine. NorthEast Park does not currently rent boats.
But not so fast...there's some preparation involved. As with all geocaching activities you assume ALL risk when hiking and paddling along the way. You will experience mostly flatwater conditions with the occasional whitewater/rocky/treefall obstacles along a 7.6 mile trail.
The actual cache will be hidden at what we consider "above the average" flood level. Water levels are subject to fast changes, especially after a good rainfall. Lifejackets, rope, and a partner are highly recommended for any caches along this waterway.
You are fully responsible for your physical, mental, and emotional state while completing the task.
One thing that makes this adventure difficult is the start and finish are 7.6 miles apart. Bring two vehicles so that you can leave one at the "take-out" spot and ride back to the "drop-in" point. Waypoints are listed below!
Expect to spend a day on the paddle trail. NorthEast Park is open from 8am-8pm, so start early. Bring a lunch and lots of water. You may have to climb slippery rocks and slopes when getting out of your boat. You may need to anchor or moor your vessel while you hunt the actual cache. Bring a pen to sign the log.
This cache is past the first rapid, on the left bank. Look for a small water path. Small trades are welcome.
