Contrary to popular belief, the cradle of modern-day Norwegian skiing never stood in the mountain valley of Morgedal. Rather, the cradle was a small wooden electric tramway that climbed into the wild forests from Majorstuen on Oslo's western outskirts. This is the bold claim made by author Knut A.
