Geocache Description:

OK Diehards - Here you go. This is an awesome hike/adventure. Expect sustained climbing, serious rock hopping, resourceful route finding, and a bit of mild rock climbing (The dog did it, so can you).

Jimmy Reno coined the term "Diehards" to describe the people who climb the peaks of the Virginia Range from the WEST. You can drive to some of these from jeep trails on the East side but that doesn't count. This is a small and elite club - You know who you are. This cache is for you.

It is an ammo can located at the top of the canyon cutting deep into the hills to the East, just North of the Damonte High School "D." This is the canyon that anybody with an once of adventure running in their blood has looked at and said, "I want to climb that some day."

There are many caches that can be grabbed in a few hours while you are here. Some of these are within a few feet of the bottom of the canyon and others are up the North wall of the canyon. A good route is to go up the canyon and exit it at the top to the left (North) - There is a somewhat easier route going down this side and you can catch the "American Dipper" and "Wagons East" caches on your way down.
