Norsk: Sandviksbatteriet ble bygget i tiden før unionsoppløsningen. Sammen med festningsanleggene på Kvarven og Hellen utgjorde det den gang en viktig del av byens forsvar mot angrep sjøveien. Anlegget ble nedlagt i 1961, og forvaltes idag av Bergen og Omegn friluftsråd (BOF). Ønsker du å komme høyere i terrenget, kan du følge stien videre til Sandvikspilen. Det går også en sti nedover mot Fjellveien herfra.

For å komme hit, kan du bruke bil eller offentlig transport. Det er busstopp ved hovedveien og hyppige bussavganger både sydover og nordover, for rutetider se Tide.

English: The military installations built here around 1900 was part of the defence if the town was attacked from the seaside. Today this area is used for recreation, the view is great, and if you want to make a longer walk, you may follow the steep path up to “Sandvikspilen”, or down to “Fjellveien”.

There are parking possibilities if you come by car, but its also easy to use bus. Busstop in both directions at the main road with frequent departures.
