La cache est une petite amnobox, suffisamment grande pour
recevoir quelques gros travelbugs. Elle contient aussi un appareil
photo jetable. Utilisez-le pour vous prendre en photo, puis
remettez-la dans la cache. Ce n’est pas un TB ou un objet
échangeable.
La plupart des visiteurs de Grenoble découvrent la Bastille et
les Bulles ou le téléphérique, mais beaucoup n’explorent pas
au-delà derrière la Bastille. Cette cache va vous mener à quelques
centaines de mètres au-dessus de la Bastille (via la plupart du
temps des voies d’accès bien entretenues).
Si vous planifiez de monter, vous pouvez soit démarrer depuis
les jardins près de la Porte de France du côté ouest si vous aimez
les marches d’escaliers, soit par la Fontaine de Lion du côté
est pour un mélange d’escaliers et de chemins. Vous pouvez
aussi emprunter un chemin long et venté qui démarre plus à
l’est, à l’extrémité est de la rue Saint-Laurent.
Attention, l’accès à travers les jardins à la Porte de France
peut être fermé tard le soir. Une fois la cache trouvée, allez au
mémorial apprécier la vue sur Grenoble.
Si vous avez envie de faire quelques autres caches dans la même
journée, vous pouvez vous arrêter en montant à ma micro Sandman3
(GCQP8V), puis, après avoir trouvé cette cache-ci, vous pouvez
emprunter le GR9 vers le Nord par delà la montagne. Si vous le
suivez jusqu’au sommet, puis descendez vers un col, et montez
à nouveau, vous pouvez atteindre le Fort du Saint Eynard (GCW7DM)
sur la montagne suivante. Ceci représente une balade
significative.
J’ai mis personnellement 1h15 depuis la Porte de Lion
jusqu’au Mont Jalla. En prenant le périphérique, on peut
limiter la marche à environ 20 minutes.

Cache is a small ammo container, big enough for a few large
travelbugs. It also contains a disposable camera. Please use this
to take a photo of yourself, then drop it back in the cache. It is
not a travel bug, or a swappable item.
Most of the visitors to Grenoble find the
Bastille, and Les Bulles or the téléphérique, but most fail to
explore behind the Bastille. This cache will take you up a few
hundred meters above the bastille (still mostly on well maintained
paths).
If you're planning to walk up, you could start from the gardens
near the Porte de France on the west side if you like steps, or by
Fountain de Lion on the east side for mix of steps & path. You
can also take a a long & winding path starting from a point
further to the east, at the eastern end of Rue Saint-Laurent. Note
that access through the gardens at Porte de France can be closed
off late at night.
Once you've found the cache, head to the Memorial for some great
views out over Grenoble.
If you wanted to hit a couple of caches in the same day - you
might like to stop at my micro Sandman3 (GCQP8V)
on the way up, then after finding this one, you could take GR9
further North up over the mountain. If you followed it all the way
to the top, then down to a col, and up again, you could reach the
Le Fort du Saint Eynard (GCW7DM)
on the next mountain. This would be a really significant walk.
I managed to get from Porte de Lion to Mont Jalla in about 1hr
15m. You could take the téléphérique to cut this down to perhaps
20m of walking.
