Geocache Description:

Mt. Tabor not too far hike down from the Monestary along the Israel National Trail

The cache is hidden along the blue trail (part of the Israel National Trail), which comes down from the North/East side of the mountain. The trail is right under a major Electricity wire.

From the top it is less than 1/2 KM to the cache. If you want to enjoy a good hike, you can begin at the bottom of Mt. Tabor in the Bedouin town of Shibly and take the steep hike up along the Israel National Trail. From here it took us about 1 1/2 hours. You would need to leave a second car either at the top of Mt. Tabor or you can continue on one of the many other trails in the area. We hiked on to the Agricultural School Kadoori - by way of a truly lovely forest under Shibli. It took us about 6 hours. It's not an easy hike - straight up and straight down - but the views and flowers were amazing.

If you hike down to the top of Shibi (green trail) there is a tourist spot at the end of town where you can get some snacks (quite expensive) We suggest continuing down the road to the wonderful Bedouin tent for a cheap and authentic meal.

The cache is in a small plastic container covered in a white plastic bag. The cache is covered by some dry leaves so you will have to search a bit. There are hints in the spoiler info as well as 2 spoiler photos.

Cache contains a travel bug that was brought by Geocacher ZachJons who came to Israel. There are also some small toys in the cache. Please bring a pen or pencil to log in.
